To refurbish and remodel a Georgian mansion into a modern family home, keeping all traditional features and elevating them to enjoy for future generations. We were tasked on gutting the property, new pipework, water and heating systems were installed alongside 5 new bathroom suites. Beautiful traditional cornices were refurbished, we added ceiling roses where they once would have been. The decorative woodwork such as the architraves and skirting were repaired where needed and we added picture rails throughout to revert to past trends. Solid parquet flooring was installed in the communal areas, the original floor tiling in the entrance hallway was refurbished.
Yet our favourite part of this project was the basement. The client with a love and passion for their wine collection needed somewhere to house it all. We created a bespoke wine cellar with brick arched ceilings and secret entrance doors made from old whisky barrels. It was all temperature controlled to keep the wine in its best state.
This project was a special one to be a part of and seeing the family enjoy this space now and grow in it has been truly rewarding.
